My name is Laura McIntyre. I have been a special education teacher since 2010. I am now an instructional coach for other special education teachers. One of the challenges of being a special education teacher is the lack of curriculum available that meets our students specific needs. In my second year of teaching, I found myself teaching several Social/Organization classes to middle school students ranging from Autism, ADHD, PDD-NOS, and other neuro-diversities with very little comprehensive materials or guidance. When I asked around what other teachers did, we all had the same question: how and what do we teach these student?? I dove in to find any experts in the field, learned as much as I could about neuro-diversity, and learned through trial and error. My only hope is that I can share with you what I have learned about teaching students with neuro-diversities.
